We need localization - we need it yesterday.
This will benefit local high school graduates who will now have a very wide variety work choices in localized industries and will not have to leave their community to find a job. This will make parents happier and keep families together.
Take toys for example, most of them are now made in China. Localization will empower all communities to create toys locally, therefore creating jobs in the community, reducing the demand for shipped goods. This will also create a demand for a local factory builder, a truck builder, farm machinery factory, auto parts factory, steel mill, paper mill, architect, the list goes on. Localization will also mandate green industry standards and promote what we now called "alternative" sources of energy. Our vehicles will be built to run on biodiesel and nitrogen fuel cells and they will be built in local factories by our neighbors.
The huge demand for jobs in all these new localized industries will mandate that the companies hiring will have to reitroduce perks once forgotten such as pensions and holiday bonuses.
Not all things can be made locally in every community, some communites don't have as many recources as others. Trade will never completely cease, but will be reduced greatly.
to be continued...
