Why are we letting ourselves be so screwed?

i hear this all day long at work:

"i  used to get $30,000 more for my work"

"they cut my bennies and my new plan doesn't cover shit"

"i'm doing three people's jobs"

when it first started a few years ago i thought maybe "people being screwed" was a result of some kind of a mishap, bad management, or some kind of bad situation caused by factors outside of anyones control.  but as we know it now, people are being screwed all over the place and it is on purpose.  like as if people were not important and something was in a need greater than people's happiness in order to achieve a higher purpose.

The higher purspose is profit,

Millions have been totally screwed by the people who sign their paychecks.

The ones that benefitted will have it done more and more until there is dangerous social unrest which may lead to violent ... changes in the world.

oh how they never learn from the past...
